Rep Networks

One of the most cost effective ways to bring a product to market is by using Manufacturers Representatives. These companies are small to medium sized entrepreneurs who cater to specific industries. For example if you have a product to sell in the plastics industry by forming strategic alliances with Manufacturers representatives in that industry, you can jump start sales without the costly overhead of your own direct sales force.

There are many benefits to using reps to sell your product.

1. They know their territory and their customers
2. They survive on their sales skills, knowledge of the industry and customer base

3. They only get paid for  product they sell

4. A good network nationwide can generate quick sales and cash flow.

TFMG has, over the years, complied an extensive data base of Manufacturers Representatives all across the USA. Not only can we search our database by industry, but also by State, by type of product, i.e. capital equipment, auxiliary equipment, raw material supplier, used equipment, in fact anyway we need to satisfy your marketing requirements.

Once we have compiled a list of suitable reps for your product line, we interview each rep to make sure that they are really right for the job and then discuss with you which we feel are the best choice for you. We take into account complimentary products the rep is already representing, the size of his in-house sales force, how well we believe he will handle your products and the company sales revenue. Once we have agreed a list of potential reps, we perform due diligence on each company and when we are satisfied,  we negotiate with each one on your behalf,  reviewing the list with you and removing any that we agree are not up to the job. Finally, once we are all satisfied with the selection, we  prepare contracts and conclude the legal formalities on your behalf.

With most of the companies that perform this type of work the story ends there. You are left to muddle through as best you can and this often leads to poor sales results, lack of business for you and a bad feeling for all concerned. Here at TFMG we go that extra mile for you our client.

Dealing with reps can be difficult, especially when long distances and different time zones are involved. Reps need constant support in the beginning, answering technical queries, preparing quotes, even just getting the rep acclimated to your product line. If the task of talking to you is to difficult, they will simply not promote your product. The secret is to constantly advance your products in the reps mind and project a professional business relationship.

TFMG will work with your reps and your TFMG project manager will always be available to the reps to provide information on your products.  We will act as your first line of support, providing product data, pricing, proposals and all the other daily chores associated with marketing a product.  When necessary we will undertake joint visits with your reps so that we can help them to become more proficient at selling your products and to assist in closing orders. We in turn, provide you with regular sales reports and sales forecast, plus reports on each rep and how they are performing. Where necessary, when results are not at pre-determined levels, we will seek alternative reps so that we continually strive to build you a strong well balanced revenue generating sales organization.

Finally, when sales have reached a level that you feel justifies your own sales people, we will hand over the daily sales activities to your own in-house experts and provide a transition period of support to guarantee sustained sales and growth.
